SAND TARTS 
1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. pecan halves
Confectioners' sugar

In bowl cream butter until soft. Blend in sugar and vanilla. Add flour. Grind pecans finely and stir into dough. Roll in small, walnut-sized balls and bake at 300 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until light brown.

While hot, roll cookies in confectioners' sugar. Cool. Roll in confectioner's sugar again. Makes 2 dozen.
