RANCHER'S VINEGAR PIE 
2 c. water
1/3 c. vinegar
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter

Heat first 4 ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.

CRUST:

2 c. flour
2/3 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
Water to make a stiff dough

Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Add water to make dough. Roll dough into a big square, 1/4-inch thick. Dot generously with butter. Sprinkle 2/3 cup sugar over dough. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon. Roll up like a jelly roll and cut into 1-inch slices. Place in deep pan. Pour vinegar sauce over rolls and bake at 350 degrees about 35-40 minutes. Makes 18 rolls with a luscious deep apple pie flavor.
