CHERRY BANANA DROPS 
1 c. red maraschino cherries
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. maraschino cherry syrup
2 bananas, mashed
1/2 c. sour cream
2 eggs
1 c. crushed corn flakes

Cut 24 cherries in half and set aside. Chop remaining cherries. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and nutmeg. Set aside.

In large bowl, with an electric mixer, mix shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time.

In a separate bowl combine mashed bananas, sour cream and cherry syrup. Add alternately the dry ingredients and banana mixture to the shortening and sugar mixture. Fold in corn flakes and chopped cherries. Drop by tablespoon onto greased cookie sheet and top with cherry halves. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Remove to wire rack and cool completely. Makes 2 dozen.
