GINGERBREAD MIX | |
8 c. flour 1/4 c. baking powder 1 tbsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. cloves 1 tbsp. ginger 1 tbsp. cinnamon 2 c. shortening Sift dry ingredients together; cut in shortening with wire pastry blender or 2 knives. Store in tight covered container. To make gingerbread, combine 2 1/4 cups mix, 1 egg, 1/2 cup each molasses, and milk. Bake in greased 9-inch square pan in 350°F oven for 35 minutes. |
