POTATO - TOMATO SOUP 
3 qts. water
4 or 5 med. potatoes, diced
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 1/2 c. tomato juice
3 heaping tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. shortening
1 onion, diced

Cook potatoes in salted water. Melt shortening in skillet. Add flour and onion and brown. Add tomato juice and sour cream. If mixture is too thick, add about one cup of water. Pour through strainer into kettle of cooked potatoes; season to taste. Cook about 5 minutes or until it comes to a full boil.
