SPICY ORIENTAL CARAMELIZED BEEF 
1/4 c. light brown sugar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
1 lb. boneless sirloin steak, cut in thin strips
Cooking oil
3 sliced scallions

In large shallow glass baking dish, blend brown sugar, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder and pepper. Add beef and turn to coat. In large skillet, heat 1/2 inch oil to 350 degrees, fry beef until brown. Remove with slotted spoon. Drain on paper toweling, garnish with scallions and crushed red pepper. Serve over rice.
