4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening (lard makes the softest cookie)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine in order given in large mixing bowl. Mix by hand until dough sticks together. Roll, cut and bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes or until lightly brown.
