1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 to 4 c. cut up gum drops

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in sour milk. Sift dry ingredients together and stir in. Mix in gum drops. Chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Drop by spoonfuls 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Makes 6 dozen.
