COCONUT POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. Crisco
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sweet milk
1 c. coconut

Cream butter, Crisco and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add coconut and mix well.

Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Turn out on a rack to cool.
