1 c. soft shortening (part butter)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly. Measure flour by sifting. Blend all dry ingredients; stir in shortening mixture. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen 2 inch cookies.
