SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
1 sm. onion, minced 1 egg 1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs 1/2 c. milk 1 tbsp. butter 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. allspice 1 lb. ground chuck 3 tsp. flour 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 c. plain yogurt Saute minced onion in a small amount of butter in skillet until soft. Beat egg in mixing bowl. Combine with milk and bread crumbs. Let sit for 10 minutes, then add salt, allspice, nutmeg, g chuck, onion and pepper. Shape into small balls. Saute balls in skillet with butter, browning well on all sides. Remove balls as done to make room for more. After all meatballs are cooked, make gravy in drippings in skillet; stir in flour and add yogurt, cooking until thick. Replace meatballs in skillet and heat mixture through. |
