PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH SHOO FLY PIE 
1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. butter
1 egg
1/3 c. molasses
2 tbsp. boiling water
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 unbaked pie shell

Mix flour, sugar, salt and butter together until crumbs are formed. Beat egg until light and fluffy. Add egg to molasses, boiling water and soda and beat until soda is dissolved. Add all but 1/4 cup crumb mixture to molasses mixture and stir until well blended. Pour into pastry lined pie plate, sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Bake in a moderate oven, 375 degrees for 35 minutes or until done.
