FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE 
1 (9 inch) baked pie shell
3 pt. fresh strawberries (1 1/2 lbs.)
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1-2 tbsp. butter (optional)

Fill the baked pie shell with 2 pints cleaned whole strawberries. Mash the remaining pint of strawberries in a large pan and add sugar, water and cornstarch. Heat until boiling, stirring, and boil mixture until it is clear and thick. Add butter if desired. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Pour over fresh berries and refrigerate. Serves 4-6.
