CHERRY CHEESE TORTE 
1 pkg. Duncan Hines yellow cake mix

FILLING:

2 pkg. (8 oz. & 3 oz.) cream cheese
1 can (1 lb. 6 oz.) cherry pie filling
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. milk

Using 8 or 9 inch round layer cake pans make and cool cake as directed on label. Soften cream cheese. Add sugar, nutmeg and milk; beat until smooth. Split each layer into 2 thin layers. Spread 1/2 cup cream cheese mixture and 1/2 cup cherry pie filling between each layer and on top of cake. Store cake in refrigerator.
