MARTHA'S BROWNIE PIE 
Wonderful when served warm or chilled with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
5 (1 oz ea.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 9-inch pie plate.

Melt butter and chocolate. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add sugar to chocolate mixture. Pour in beaten eggs to chocolate mixture. Remove from heat. Add flour mixture, vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Pour into well greased 9-inch pie plate.

Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes.

Note: Can also use 9x9-inch pan.
