2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 tbsp. milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into large bowl. Add butter and rub into flour mixture with a pastry blender or your fingers. Beat together egg and almond extract. Add to flour mixture and mix with a fork. Use your fingers to mix until smooth.

Break off pieces of dough and roll into balls. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. You can also shape dough into figures or letters and then bake.
