GERMAN CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
60 Kraft caramels
1/2 c. canned milk
German chocolate cake mix
1/3 c. canned milk
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. pecans
1 c. Nestles chocolate chips

Melt caramels in 1/2 cup milk in double boiler over very low heat. Mix cake mix, 1/3 cup milk, butter and nuts. Spread half of mixture in greased loaf pan (13 x 9 inches). Bake 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over baked mixture.

Spread caramel mixture over chips. Pat remaining cake mixture together by hand and place on top of caramel layer until all is used, covering top (any cracks will melt together during baking). Bake another 18 to 20 minutes. Cool and refrigerate until cold (through and through). Cut into squares and leave at room temperature for better flavor.
