APPLE-TOPPED COFFEE CAKE 
2 c. Bisquick
1/4 c. sugar
2/3 c. milk
1 egg

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. butter
1 lg. apple, peeled and cut sm.
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. Bisquick
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. water

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease cake pan.

Cake: Mix all ingredients for cake and beat vigorously. Pour into pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes until brown.

Topping: Melt butter in skillet then add apple pieces and turn down heat. Mix sugar, Bisquick and cinnamon. Stir into apples, cook over low heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in milk. Cook over low heat stirring frequently until apples are crisp and tender and sauce is desired thickness. Spoon over warm cake.
