CINNAMON-NUT DIAMONDS 
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. softened butter
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
1/2 c. ground walnuts
1 egg
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix first 3 ingredients and set aside. Put next 4 ingredients in large bowl and beat until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture and ground nuts and mix well. Spread in greased 15x10x2 inch baking pan and pat down with hands. Beat egg and brush on dough. Sprinkle evenly with chopped nuts, pressing into dough. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cut crosswise in 1 1/2 inch strips, then cut in diamond shapes.
