BARBECUED SPARERIBS 
3 or 4 lbs. spareribs, country style
1 lemon
1 lg. onion
1 c. catsup
2 c. water
1/3 c. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. chili powder (optional)
1 tsp. salt
2 dashes Tabasco sauce

Place ribs in roasting pan meaty side up. On each piece put a slice of unpeeled lemon and a slice of onion. Roast in hot oven, 450 degrees for 30 minutes. Combine the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Pour over ribs. Continue baking in moderate oven until tender, 350 degrees, about 45 minutes to 1 hour. If the sauce gets too thick, add more water. Makes 4 servings.
