1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix sugar and butter. Add egg, vanilla and almond and mix well. Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Add dry ingredients to liquid mixture. Blend until smooth. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours. Roll dough 3/16" on lightly floured pastry cloth. Cut with cookie cutter, sprinkle with sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes. Makes 5 dozen 2" cookies.
