GRANOLA SNACK BARS | |
1/2 c. butter, softened 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/3 c. corn syrup 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 1/2 c. Quaker Oats (Quick or Old Fashioned, uncooked) 1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease 13x9 inch baking pan. In large bowl, beat together butter, sugar and corn syrup until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add oats and chocolate pieces; mix well. Press firmly into prepared pan. Bake 20 to 23 minutes or until light brown. Cool on wire cooling rack. Cut into bars and refrigerate. Note: When using old fashioned oats; add 1/4 cup all-purpose flour to batter. |
