TURKEY TURNOVERS | |
Pasty for 1 (9") single crust 2 tbsp. soft butter 1 c. cooked turkey, diced or shredded 1/3 c. thinly sliced green onions 2/3 c. thinly sliced celery 1/3 c. sour cream 1 tbsp. Dijon style mustard Lettuce, green pepper rings & tomato slices for garnish 1. Prepare your favorite pastry or a packaged mix for a 9 inch single crust. Roll out on a lightly floured board into a 12 inch circle. Evenly brush entire surface with butter. Set aside. 2. Combine turkey, onions, celery, sour cream and mustard. Spread mixture over half the dough to about 1 inch from the outside edge. 3. Fold unfilled half over top and crimp edges to seal. 4. Transfer to ungreased baking sheet. Slash top in 2 or 3 places to allow steam to escape during baking. 5. Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to serving platter. Cut into wedges. Garnish with lettuce, green pepper, rings and tomato slices. Serve at once. Tips: The turnover can be prepared ahead, covered and refrigerated, then baked just before serving. Baking time is the same even if refrigerated. Makes 1 turnover, 4 servings. |
