GERMAN STYLE CHICKEN 
1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
2 tbsp. oil
1 c. water
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 med. head cabbage, cut in eight wedges (1 1/2 lbs.)
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds

In 12 inch skillet, brown chicken pieces in hot oil over medium heat, about 15 minutes. Combine water, brown sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper, pour over chicken. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add cabbage wedges and caraway seed. Cover and cook until chicken and cabbage are tender, about 15 minutes longer.

Makes 4 servings.
