3 c. raw peanuts
2 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. white Karo syrup
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter
Red food coloring (if desired)

Put all in pan except vanilla, butter and coloring. Bring to a rapid boil, turn down burner and simmer 1 hour and 1 minute. Remove from burner and add vanilla, butter and coloring. Beat until thick enough to spread. Pour in pan and let stand until hard.
