FRIED BREAD
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. warm water
5 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
About 2 c. of warm milk

Mix the dry yeast, sugar and warm water in a small bowl, then set aside. Combine the flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture to it. Add enough warm milk so that the bread is a thick, even consistency. Let the dough rise and punch it down when it has doubled in size.

In a deep skillet or Dutch oven, heat until hot 1 inch of oil or shortening. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut it into squares and put each square into the hot oil. Brown on each side. Serve immediately.
