SCOTTISH SHORTBREAD 
3/4 c. flour
2 tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
Pinch of salt

Sift flour and salt in bowl. Add sugar. Blend shortening and butter into mixture. Knead until mixture is a pliable dough. Roll out into a flat, round cake; crimp the edges. Mark into 8 sections with knife and prick the surface. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes until light brown. Sprinkle with sugar.
