DEVIL'S FLOAT 
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. cocoa (2+4)
2 tbsp. melted shortening
1/2 c. chopped pecans
2 tsp. baking powder (exactly)
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa. Add milk, shortening, vanilla and mix only until smooth; add nuts. Put in 1 quart greased baking dish. Mix brown sugar and remaining 4 tablespoons cocoa and sprinkle on top. Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over the top. (Makes cake over sauce.) Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve warm or cold with cream if desired.
