STRAWBERRY TORTE 
1 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. melted butter
2 egg whites, beaten
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix first 4 ingredients together and spread onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. This becomes base. Gradually mix sugar to beaten egg whites. Add lemon juice, strawberries, Cool Whip, and vanilla. Sprinkle 2/3 of base mixture into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Spoon filling mixture into pan. Top with remaining base mixture. Freeze; then serve.
