1 c. mild vinegar
1/4 c. sugar
6 tsp. shortening
1 egg
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. cream
Dash paprika

Stir vinegar, sugar and shortening well and bring to boil. To this add the hot vinegar slowly, beating vigorously all the time with egg beater. Beat until thick. Let stand a few minutes, then pour over chopped cabbage and serve at once.
