3 c. tiny marshmallows
1/3 c. butter
1/3 c. creamy peanut butter
4 c. crisp rice cereal
9 sm. gumdrops, sliced crosswise in half
3 red jelly roing candies, cut in half
Assorted decorations (snipped gumdrops, red cinnamon candies, coconut and/or mixed dried fruit bits)
18 paper bake cups
6 sugar ice-cream cones

In a heavy medium saucepan melt marshmallows and butter over medium heat, stirring constantly until the marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth. Add peanut butter and continue stirring until mixture is well combined. Remove saucepan from heat. Add cereal and stir gently to coat cereal evenly. Cool mixture about 3 minutes or until it can be handled easily.

Use buttered hands to shape mixture into 6 balls. Place on waxed paper. Let stand about 30 minutes or until firm. Put peanut butter, gumdrops, jelly ring candies and assorted decorations in small bowls. Cover until party time.

At party time, let guests make their own clown. For the collar, put 3 paper bake cups together and flatten open. Place cereal balls on top for head. For hat, attach 3 gumdrop halves to cone for pom-poms, a jelly ring candy half for mouth, and other assorted decorations for nose, eyes and hair.

Makes 6 clowns.
