CASSEROLE RAISIN BREAD 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg
3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour

Put first 4 ingredients in large mixing bowl and add 2/3 cup boiling water. Stir until butter is softened; cool to lukewarm if necessary. Sprinkle yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Let stand until softened, then stir into first mixture with remaining ingredients.

Beat well, cover and let stand in warm place about 1 hour. Stir down and beat well. Put in greased 2-quart casserole and bake in hot 400 degree oven for about 45 minutes. Cool before slicing.

Note: Chopped walnuts, filberts or pecans can be added if desired.
