VEGETABLE CHEESE BREAD 
1 1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter
1 tbsp. salt
1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheese
1/4 c. minced onion
1/4 c. minced green pepper
1/2 c. finely chopped carrot
2 yeast cakes
1 well beaten egg
6 - 7 c. white flour
3 tbsp. melted butter

Scald milk. Add to it and cool to 110 degrees, sugar, salt, grated cheese, onion, pepper and carrot. In large bowl, dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water for 10 minutes. Stir in cooled milk mixture. Add and beat until smooth one well beaten egg. Beat in 3 cups flour, then add 3 more cups until dough begins to leave sides of bowl. Knead on lightly floured board. Place in oiled bowl, cover and let rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled. Punch down. Shape into 2 loaves and put into greased loaf pans. Brush loaves with melted butter. Allow to rise in pans until doubled (about an hour). Bake in 375 degree oven for about 30 minutes. Remove from pans.
