GERMAN POUND CAKE 
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
5 c. flour, sift 3 times
1 c. milk
3 tsp. baking powder, to be sifted with last bit of flour
Cake essence (flavor rum/almond) or 1 shot rum
3 sticks butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 10 inch pan. Cream sugar, eggs, and butter. Alternately add flour and baking powder gradually; gradually add milk and flavoring. Pour into pan. Bake 1 1/4 hours.
