This is Yummy, and quick to throw together. I really don't like to eat a heavy breakfast, therfore Ambrosia was nice, light, and Fluffy.

Thanks!! I've just tried a Cranberry Ambrosia from the grocery store, with no ingredients or brand name listed. I loved it!! And I'd never heard what ambrosia is (except out of this world for flavor) or how it is made until I googled this site. Mine had crushed, seeded cranberries, coarsely chopped walnuts and the delicious base I now how to figure out: Sour cream, whipped cream, yogurt, canned or real, or -.I hope I find that very tiny touch of tang it had--sour cream?? Thanks, so much for your help.

I made this recipe for a large Thanksgiving dinner party and everyone absolutely raved about it. Now, I usually don't like desserts containing anything marshmallow, but I loved this Ambrosia too. Since then, I have been asked numerous times to bring it to other dinner parties. A Ambrosia indeed.

This is my first attempt at making ambrosia salad and it turned out delicious. The only difference was that I used tart cherries as we do not eat maraschino cherries. And it came out wonderful! Thank you for this recipe.

Growing up - my mom and dad always made this together - but a different verison. They use pineapple chunks, grapes cut in half, greatfruit, apples, mandarin oranges, pecans or walnuts, marshmellows and sour cream. This has been a hit in our family for over 40 years.

I just started adding sour cream to the recipes at work. it is much better tasting. I work in a deli at a grocery store. I like to change the color of the salad too. I save the juice from the cherries and add it till I get the color I want. If it seems to be too loos the next day, I add a hand full more of marshmallows. Now I just have to try adding coconut.

Great recipe! used one jar of cherries, one jar of pears, added a can of cubed peaches and some fresh seedless grapes, halved. Got raved reviews. Oh and left out the coconut, because my family doesn't like it. I prefer the coconut myself!...wimps :)

I added bananas, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom to this recipe to give it a little flavor besides the sweet and fruity. YUM!
