MRS. WINSOR'S BLACK PUDDING 
1 c. New Orleans molasses
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda in 2/3 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine molasses, egg, soda in boiling water. Stir in flour. Pour this batter into well greased mold, filling half full. Place mold in a steamer or kettle with a rack above boiling water. Cover tightly and steam 1 1/2 hours.

Make hard sauce (butter, sugar and vanilla, creamed together and chilled) and serve with warm pudding.
