TOMATO DUMPLINGS 
1 (No. 2 1/2) can of tomatoes
1 c. water
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar

Boil gently together for 5 minutes. Add dumplings prepared as follows:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Enough water to make stiff dough

Roll on well floured board. Cut into 1 inch squares. Drop into boiling tomatoes. Cover and cook on low for 15 minutes. These are best made several hours before serving.
