2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 lg. onions, diced
2 lbs. potatoes, quartered
Serve with plenty of fresh rye or pumpernickel bread and butter on a cold day. In large pot, brown meat with onion. Drain excess fat. Add basil, approximately 2 quarts water and potatoes. Bring to boil, then simmer until potatoes are soft. Add salt and pepper to taste. Be creative. Can add string beans or other vegetables for complete meal in a pot. Stretch recipe with added water and potatoes. Add more onion-basil to your taste.
