HAMBURGER-VEGETABLE STEW 
1 lb. ground beef
3 carrots, chopped
3-4 potatoes, chopped
1-2 onions, chopped
3 celery stalks, chopped
1 fresh tomato, chopped
Pinch of basil
2 tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. frozen broccoli spears
1 (13 3/4 oz.) chicken broth
2 beef bouillon cubes
4-6 c. water
1 tbsp. gravy master
Pinch of salt and pepper

Brown beef and drain. Add all remaining ingredients except broccoli. Cook slowly for about 1 hour or until vegetables are tender. Add broccoli and simmer an additional 30 minutes. Serve with rye or pumpernickel bread.
