PLAIN "TASTY" CORNBREAD 
Aunt Jemima cornmeal or Jiffy mix
1 sm. container sour cream
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. drippings or shortening

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place drippings in 10 inch oven - proof skillet or 9 inch square baking pan. Place in hot oven to melt drippings. Tilt to coat bottom evenly. Add sour cream, milk, egg and melted drippings to cornmeal. Mix and sugar medium bowl; stir well. Pour back into hot prepared skillet. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes about 9 servings. Follow directions on Jiffy mix and add sour cream (small) amount.
