GREEN TOMATO PIE 
Pastry for 2 crust pie
6 c. sliced green tomatoes
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. butter
Milk

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

In a bowl mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and cloves. Add tomatoes and coat each slice well. Sprinkle vinegar and vanilla on tomatoes and stir well. Line a 9" pie plate with one crust and fill with tomato mixture. Scrape bowl clean with spatula to use all the ingredients in pie. Dot with b utter and cover with the top crust. Fold top crust edge under the bottom crust, seal and pinch into a decorative edge. Slit top crust and brush lightly with milk. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
