SCALLOPED CABBAGE 
3-4 c. shredded cabbage
Milk
Salt and pepper
butter
Grated cheese (optional)

Put cabbage into a buttered casserole dish. Add milk to within a half inch of top of cabbage. Add salt and pepper to taste. Dot with butter.

VARIATION: Sprinkle top of cabbage with grated cheese before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until top is brown.
