GRANNY'S BEST OATMEAL COOKIES 
4 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. butter
3 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. milk
4 c. quick cooking oats
2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Sift together flour, cinnamon, cloves and salt; set aside. Cream together butter and brown sugar in bowl until light and fluffy, using electric mixer at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir baking soda into milk. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk mixture to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition, using electric mixer at low speed. Stir in oats, raisins and walnuts.

Drop mixture by tablespoonfuls, about 2" apart, on greased baking sheets. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheets.

Makes 9 dozen.
