FRENCH APPLE PIE 
1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
6 c. peeled apple slices
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. sifted flour

Combine the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and apples in a bowl. Heap this mixture in the unbaked pastry shell. Cream butter and brown sugar together; cut in the flour. Sprinkle mixture over apples. Bake at 375 degrees about 40 minutes or until apples are tender.
