HUSH PUPPIES 
1/2 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
1 sm. onion, diced
1 egg, well beaten

Mix dry ingredients. Pour in milk and egg. Mix again and add onion; mix again. Batter comes out thin. Fry in deep fat or oil. NOTE: For thicker hush puppies, use 1/2 cup milk instead of 3/4 cup milk.
