IKE'S CHILI 
3 lbs. ground beef
2 lbs. Italian sausage
3 lg. onions
5 can kidney beans
1 lg. tomato paste
4 sm. cans tomato sauce
1/2 gallon tomato juice

Brown chopped onions and meat. Add tomato paste, sauce and about 3/4 of the tomato juice. Add 1 tablespoon basil, 1 teaspoon oregano and 1 bay leaf, salt and pepper.

Cook about 2-3 hours. Add tomato juice if needed. (I did not.) Add beans, about 2 tablespoons catsup, and 1/3 bottle of barbecue sauce and chili powder to taste. I used a big bottle of chili powder. Add about 1/3 cup of sugar. Cook about another 1/2 hour.
