TORTA SECCA 
4 c. flour
2 tsp. of baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 lb. butter, melted
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, well beaten
1 tbsp. of almond extract
1 lb. of walnuts, chopped

Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt. Melt the butter, then blend the sugar into it until the mixture is creamy. Add the eggs to the creamy mixture, blending well. Next, add the extract.

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, one cup at a time. Finally, add the chopped nuts, blending well. Spread the batter in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Then, reduce the temperature to 325 degrees and continue baking for 30 more minutes.
