WALNUT TORTA 
8 eggs, separated
8 oz. sugar, granulated
8 oz. ground walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Beat 8 egg yolks, add 8 ounces sugar, beat until thick and lemon colored. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 8 ounces ground walnuts, 1/2 cup flour mixed with 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Blend. Fold in 8 stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour dough into 3 greased and floured layer pans. Bake about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool the layers.

FILLING AND FROSTING:

1/2 lb. sweet butter
3 whole eggs
1 tsp. instant coffee
2 tsp. cocoa
1/2 lb. powdered sugar

Cream together 1/2 pound butter then add 1 slightly beaten egg at a time, instant coffee and cocoa. Beat in 1/2 pound powdered sugar. Fill and frost nut torta.
