CRISPY FRIED FISH | |
1 lb. fresh or frozen skinless fish fillets 1 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 beaten egg 3/4 c. cold water 2 tbsp. cooking oil or shortening Thaw fish, if frozen. Cut diagonally in 2 inch pieces, season with salt. Combine flour, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Combine egg, water and oil. Add to flour mixture. Beat smooth. Dip fish in batter. Fry a few pieces at a time, in cooking oil. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Drain. Keep warm in oven while frying remainder. |
