GRASSHOPPER TORTE | |
1 angel food cake, loaf or round 24 lg. marshmallows 3/4 c. milk 3 tbsp. creme de cacao (white) 2 or 3 tbsp. creme de menthe 1 pt. heavy cream, whipped (take less than a pt.) 1/4 tsp. salt Slivered almonds (opt.) Cut cake in 3 layers and put filling between and on top of cake with almonds, if desired. To make filling, put marshmallows and milk in top of double boiler. Cook over boiling water until marshmallows melt, stirring occasionally. When well mixed, remove from heat and cool. Add creme de cacao, creme de menthe and salt. When mixture is cold, fold in whipped cream. |
